Grants for Artists Program

Note: The deadline for GAP 2010 has passed.  The next deadline for GAP will be announced mid-December 2010.

The Grants for Artists Program (GAP) is designed to support activities for artists to create, refine, perform or exhibit their work, while furthering their careers. Artists must have attained a certain level of proficiency as represented in the quality of work samples submitted with the application. Artistic disciplines include dance, folk arts, literature, media arts, multidiscipline, music, theatre and visual arts. Artists are eligible for up to $1,000 per fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). In order to apply for a GAP you must be a current individual artist member of The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge.  For information on how to become a member, go here.

Interested artists may review the guidelines from 2010, while keeping in mind that deadlines and other pertinent information for 2011 will be updated in the fall.

Applicants must read the GAP Guidelines carefully and completely and submit all required information including the GAP application form.

Applicants are also encouraged to read the Frequently Asked Questions prior to submitting their proposals.

Note: Grantees must recognize The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge in all materials promoting/announcing their program or event. Click here to download our logo.
